Initial Teacher Training (ITT)

The School-led PGCE with QTS programme is for graduates and career changers who have a degree and want to train to become teachers. Here at Ambitions Training School, we offer initial teacher training (ITT) in Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset through this programme and successful completion will lead to qualified teacher status (QTS) and a PGCE.

The trainee teacher will have access to invaluable school and classroom experience that will equip them with the knowledge, skills and experience that they will need to become an excellent class teacher.

The training programme adopts a school-based approach. The trainee teacher will have a one-year placement at one of our Academies, a six week placement in an alternative setting and the opportunity to have immersion days at other schools within the alliance. This will enable them to experience a range of aspects of school life, and they will learn to teach with expert classroom practitioners.
